Command Description
The Fix Media Links command allows you to update and fix broken media file paths on points within TBC projects. This can be very useful if you export job data as a VCL file and bring it into another TBC project as the links will be broken. It also makes it possible to easily move the media files from the project folder where it was imported to a more centralized folder location. The command can also be used on broken georeferenced image links.
-
Location:
- If the “Use project folder” option is selected, then it will scan the project folder and subfolders to match all the images to the media folders in the project.
- If the above is unselected, then you can manually browse to a folder containing the images.
-
Manual selection:
- If the “Manually select media files” is selected, you can select only the required Media folders to have their file paths updated.
-
Link management:
- If the “Copy files before updating paths” option is selected, then the images will be copied into a new output folder chosen using the “Choose output folder” button and the file paths will change to adopt this new location.
- If the “Use ‘Photos’ subfolder with relative links” option is selected, then a subfolder called ‘Photos’ will be added automatically into the chosen output folder and all the copied images will be placed there and links made to suit.
- Press the Apply button to update the image folder file path.
- Press the Close button to end the command.
Note: You can use this to fix broken links of Geo-referenced images by manually selecting the image in the TBC Project explorer and selecting the folder where the image is contained.
