Command Description
The Create Chord Lines command allows you to select one or more linestrings and set a chord distance that will be applied in 2D or 3D from the start of the line to create individual line segments at that length.
- Click in the Select linestrings selection field and then in a graphic view select the 3d objects. Click Options button for additional selection options.
- Settings:
- Length – This is the chord length to be used.
- 2D distance – Use this mode to apply the length in 2D only.
- 3D distance – Use this mode to apply the length in 3D.
- Layer – Select an existing layer or create a new one for the chorded lines.
- Color – Select a colour for the new lines.
- Options:
- Delete existing linestrings – Select this to delete the original linestrings used.
- Join segments – Select this to join all the individual chords into one line.
- Do either of the following:
- Click Apply to create the chord lines and keep the Create Chord Line command pane open.
- Click Close to close the Create Chord Line command pane.
Note: Must be a Linestring to work with this command.
