Deactivating a Trimble Business Center (TBC) or Trimble RealWorks network license requires the following steps to ensure it goes smoothly. Please follow these instructions:

Option 1: Use a 19 digit 'Clear code'

After you have provided your network key ID to your dealer that needs to be deactivated, a 'Clear code' will be issued for that license. In order to successfully complete the activation process with Trimble activation servers, it is important to have an unrestricted internet connection. To address this issue, we suggest you consider the following:

Temporarily disable your antivirus software or configure it to allow connections to the following addresses and ports:

  • Port 1947
  • https://updates.t-iserv.com (Port 443)
  • http://trl.trimble.com (Port 80)

  1. On the server, launch the “Trimble HASP License Updater” (or “Sentinel HASP License Updater”) — it should already be installed. If the server has internet access, Trimble will be notified automatically once the update is applied. Easiest way to find it is to click "Start" and type “HASP License Updater”. 2. Type or paste into the text box the 19-digit code. The Update button will activate. Click the Update button; the Trimble HASP License Updater will contact the Trimble activation server.

  3. Once completed, the Trimble HASP License Updater gives the following confirmation. That’s all it needs to happen on the customer side.

If this process does not work due to internet access issues then go to Option 2.

Option 2: Use a V2C file

If the 19 digit clear code did not work then you will need use a v2c file to deactivate the licence. This will be provided by Trimble using the following steps.

  1. Customer generates a c2v file.
    • Open Sentinel Admin Control Center (SACC) on the server.
    • The licensing software used by Trimble is Thales Sentinel Admin Control Center. You can access it through http://localhost:1947/ on end user PCs or the Network License Server.
    • Navigate to Sentinel Keys.
    • Locate the network Key ID and click the adjacent C2V button to save the file to your PC.
    • If the c2v option is not enabled, go to configuration> Basic settings and ensure 'Generate C2V file for HASP key' is enabled.C2V.png
  2. Customer sends the c2v file to Trimble dealer and will then be provided a v2c file from Trimble to apply.
  3. Apply the v2c file to server
    • Open the SACC web interface on your server as per the previous instructions.
    • Navigate to the Update/Attach section.Server 1.png
    • Select the provided .v2c file using Choose File.
    • Click on Apply File.
  4. Once applied on the server you need to send a screen shot showing the 'Clear code' has been applied and a fresh c2v from that server to send to Trimble for confirmation.
