Typical error messages are:

There is a problem connecting to the licensing server
Exception of Type Trimble VCE.UI.BaseCommands.LicenseManager.ActivationAPIException was thrown”.

If you're encountering issues with online activation using a 19-digit code and receiving error messages as above you can troubleshoot using the following steps:

  1. Check Network Restrictions.
The most common causes for online activation failure are restricted networks, often caused by antivirus or firewall software blocking the internet connection. This can prevent the activation process from reaching Trimble's activation servers.
    1. Temporarily Disable Antivirus/Firewall.
To verify if the issue is caused by network restrictions, temporarily disable your antivirus software or firewall and attempt activation again.

    2. Allow Exception/Rules.
If disabling antivirus/firewall is not feasible, you can create an exception or rule to allow connections to the following addresses and ports in windows advanced and administator settings:

      - port 1947

      - https://updates.t-iserv.com (port 443)

      - http://trl.trimble.com (port 80)

    3. Update Dongle Drivers:
Download and install the latest Sentinel LDK drivers for your USB dongle. You can find these drivers on this page under the Sentinel LDK runtime drivers section. Download the latest Sentinel HASP/LDK Windows GUI Runtime Installer

Alternative Solution:
If network constraints persist, consider running the activation process on a personal laptop with an unrestricted internet connection, such as through a phone hotspot.

Or if the above solutions are not feasible, we can arrange for an offline activation using the C2V method. Please refer to the offline activation manual below and contact our support team to proceed with this option.
