Command Description

The Transform 3D Objects command enables you to select one or many 3d objects and rotate and/or translate the object around a user defined axis.

  • Click in the Select objects selection field and then in a graphic view select the 3d objects. Click Options button for additional selection options.
  • Axis selection:
    • Axes follow objects – If this box is checked then the axes will move as you move the object.
    • Show axes – If this box is checked than there will be visual indicators shown in the view for the axes.
    • Origin point – This is the 3d origin location which movement occurs around.
    • X direction – This is the 3d location used to set the X axis from the origin point.
    • Y direction – This is the 3d location used to set the Y axis from the origin point.
    • Z direction – This is always perpendicular to XY axes.
  • Rotation settings:
    • Rotate X axis – Enter a degree value that will be used to incrementally rotate the object around the X axis direction. Use the buttons to rotate either direction by the entered amount.
    • Rotate Y axis – Enter a degree value that will be used to incrementally rotate the object around the Y axis direction. Use the buttons to rotate either direction by the entered amount.
    • Rotate Z axis – Enter a degree value that will be used to incrementally rotate the object around the Z axis direction. Use the buttons to rotate either direction by the entered amount.
  • Translation settings:
    • Translation along X axis – Enter a length value that will be used to incrementally move the object in the X axis direction. Use the buttons to move either direction by the entered amount.
    • Translation along Y axis – Enter a length value that will be used to incrementally move the object in the Y axis direction. Use the buttons to move either direction by the entered amount.
    • Translation along Z axis – Enter a length value that will be used to incrementally move the object in the Z axis direction. Use the buttons to move either direction by the entered amount.
  • Click Close to end and close the Rotate 3D Objects command pane.
